Navy rescues vessel off Jalisco coast

Elements of the Sixth Naval Region Ministry of the Navy of Mexico ( Semar )  rescued one shrimp boat that was in danger of sinking in the vicinity of the coast of Barra de Navidad, Jalisco .

The official spokesperson on this port Semar Colima, Lieutenant Wendy Murillo Band, announced that the rescue operation was conducted by the Naval Station Search and Rescue Manzanillo (ENSAR) military dependency.

Reported that rescue operations began when he received a call from the Port of Manzanillo, Colima, to report that the vessel "UNICAP XI", belonging to the Cooperative Fish Production Alexander Von Humboldt, SC of RL and CV, based Colima is in this port, had a leak and was in danger of sinking.

In response, immediately Defender sailed a boat type, belonging to the said naval station, to provide the required support to the use of a pump to evacuate water and an expert swimmer, who proceeded to perform subsea work in order to locate the source of the leak and fix it temporarily.

On arrival of the vessel of the Navy, the captain and crew of the damaged shrimper were about to abandon ship as lost.

However, the timely intervention of elements of the Sixth Naval Region, and we controlled the situation, the boat with five crew on board was towed to the port of Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, where he was received by their owners.
